Chevy Safety Assist is a comprehensive suite of six technologies working together. Forward Collision Alert¹ uses a front-facing camera to watch the vehicle ahead. If you're closing in too fast, it chimes or flashes a warning so you can react. Automatic Emergency Braking¹ steps in if you don't respond in time. It can boost your braking pressure or bring the vehicle to a stop on its own. Front Pedestrian Braking¹ is tuned to detect people in your path, ensuring that you are aware of both vehicles and pedestrians. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning¹ reads the lane markings on the road. If you drift without signaling, it alerts you and gently steers you back toward the lane. Following Distance Indicator¹ shows how far you are behind the vehicle ahead, which makes it easier to keep a safe gap on the way to Washington, DC. IntelliBeam¹ turns your high beams on and off automatically, dimming them when it detects oncoming or preceding traffic.

What's New for 2027

The suite keeps getting stronger. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking¹ is now standard for the 2027 Equinox, replacing the original version. Adaptive Cruise Control¹ is also standard, having been optional on previous generations.
